Geoff has been with Athabasca Basin Development since the company’s inception. As CEO, he is responsible for evaluating new opportunities and monitoring existing investments/operations, and under his leadership, the company has grown to include investments in 14 companies providing a wide range of services. ABD has won numerous awards, including SaskBusiness Magazine’s 2014 Business of the Year, #48 in SaskBusiness Magazine’s Top 100 companies, and the Prospector and Developers Association of Canada’s Skookum Jim award, and Geoff was named the Business Leader of the Year at the 2017 ABEX awards. In addition to his duties as CEO, Geoff sits on numerous boards and has also been an active member of the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce. Geoff has a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University with a major in Management and has his Directors Education Program (DEP) designation through the Institute of Chartered Directors (ICD).

Shauna has over 16 years experience researching, developing and writing business plans and analyzing business opportunities.  Prior to her time at Athabasca Basin Development, Shauna worked for 7 years as a business analyst and consultant at Rosten Bergsma Business Solutions, providing detailed analysis and planning services for small businesses, First Nations, and non-profits.  Shauna has a Bachelor of Commerce degree with great distinction from the University of Saskatchewan and her Professional Director Certification from Governance Solutions.

Kristine has over 20 years of experience in financial services. In her 16 years as Controller of ABD, Kristine has had extensive experience in starting and acquiring businesses including setting up financial systems, compliance, risk management and insurance, financial reporting, budgeting and projections. Part of her role is to provide on-going support to ABDs investments on a wide range of financial services. Kristine has also provided consulting services to third party organizations. Prior to her time at ABD, Kristine worked in the investment industry for 5 years. Kristine graduated with distinction from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance and is currently a student at the Chartered  Professional Accountants Western School of Business in the CPA PREP Program.

Kristy has over 20 years experience in Marketing and Communications, including overseeing marketing for ABD since 2011 and providing consulting services for its investment companies as well as external groups. Before joining ABD, Kristy held several positions during her time at Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, including Acting Director of Player Relations, where she was responsible for overseeing the company’s loyalty program, and Director of Communications and Media Relations. Kristy has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Saskatchewan with a major in English and a certificate in Marketing Management & Innovation from the Sauder School of Business. Kristy is a member of Whitefish Lake First Nation #128 and will be a published author in 2024.

Treena has been with Athabasca Basin Development since December 2012 and is responsible for keeping everything and everyone at the office organized. Treena came to ABD with over 25 years experience in various administrative roles, including positions with Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, University of Saskatchewan, and SaskHousing. Treena is a member of Cumberland House Cree Nation.
