Building a Future Through Investment is accomplished by building wealth for the Athabasca communities, donations, community distributions, building a reputation, and building capacity. The key to making all benefits possible is building wealth for the communities—without this foundation, the other benefits would not be possible. Here are a few recent examples of the ways Athabasca Basin Development and its investments give back:

We are proud to support community events, such as Treaty Days. Athabasca Basin Development and Points Athabasca contributed a total of $20,000 to Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake’s Treaty days in 2025.

We were proud to support and attend the SIGA 7th Annual Pancake Breakfast in support of White Buffalo Youth Lodge. The annual event was held on August 21st in Saskatoon and has become a huge community gathering. This year’s event raised a record breaking $65,000 to support the facility’s programming for inner city youth in Saskatoon. ABD has been a sponsor for many years, contributing $1,000. Kudos to our friends at Kitsaki CEO Ron Hyggen and Chief Tammy Cook-Searson for attending and serving pancakes to the many attendees.

Jenna Powder from Camsell Portage is recieving one of the Flyer Electric Denise Bougie Scholarship awards for trades. This is her second year receiving a scholarship. She is in the Sask Polytechnic Automotive Service Technician Apprentice program.
Congratulations to former scholarship recipient and summer student Gessika Laliberte from Fond du Lac in her new teaching career! Gessika graduated in spring and started her position as a grade two teacher this fall. We wish her all the best!
