Sew & Sew Skills Lab comes to Uranium City and Stony Rapids

Last spring, schools in Hatchet Lake, Black Lake, and Fond du Lac joined the Sew & Sew community. Stony Rapids and Uranium City joined in 2025.

Created by the non-profit I Love First Peoples, Sew & Sew is a program that equips remote community schools across Canada with sewing labs, including quality sewing machines and supplies, so they can teach skills through traditional project in the school. The program has multiple sponsors, and ABD donated $10,000 to the initiative this year.
