Connected North provides live, interactive virtual learning experiences and access to educational resources for students and teachers in remote communities, supporting them where they live. Spearheaded by TakingItGlobal, many partners come on board to make this happen for schools across Canada, and as far north as Umimmak School in Grise Fiord, NU. Athabasca Basin Development has been a supporter of Connected North since its inception in Saskatchewan 10 years ago in Black Lake. The popular program quickly spread to Hatchet Lake and Fond du Lac, as well as other schools in the province.
