Responsibilities:
- Diagnose mechanical issues through observation and testing of equipment.
- Perform repairs on machinery, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to prevent breakdowns and ensure longevity of equipment.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete repairs and installations.

Job Description
The Ya’thi Néné Land and Resource Office works to promote and enhance the environmental, social, cultural and economic health and well-being of the Athabasca residents including Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nations, Stony Rapids, Wollaston Lake, Camsell Portage and Uranium City.
Position
Under the direction of the Ya’thi Néné Land and Resource Office Corporate Affairs Manager the Administrative Summer Student will be focused on a variety of administrative and communication tasks that support the office and its staff. This includes assistance with general administration, booking travel, expense reimbursement, filing, drafting correspondences & reports, maintaining social media and the website, taking minutes at meetings and assistance on other matters as directed.
Responsibilities
- Assist with answering incoming calls, dealing with inquires, re-directing calls appropriately, and initiating outgoing calls as required;
- Collect and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and faxes;
- Assist with the maintenance of the Ya’thi Néné website and Facebook page;
- Format information for internal and external communication including memos, emails, presentations and reports;
- Book travel, including hotels and airfares as directed;
- Develop requisitions and expense reports;
- Record minutes of meetings and distribute as directed;
- Maintain binders of current administrative procedures and meeting minutes;
- Perform photocopying, scanning, faxing and database entry;
- Maintain the office filing system as well as online filing system;
- Maintain a clean office environment and order office supplies as needed;
- Engage in other tasks and assignments as directed by the Corporate Affairs Manager.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a post-secondary institution and returning to studies in the Fall of 2026;
- Preference will be given to those enrolled in Administration, Business Administration, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Education, Indigenous Studies, Economics, Law, Environmental Science;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment;
- Excellent oral and written communication, minute taking and presentation skills;
- Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, social media, and data entry;
- Requires personal vehicle and valid driver’s license;
- Experience working with First Nations or other Indigenous Communities is considered an asset;
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with leaders, industry and other stakeholders;
- Strong interest in working with the Athabasca Basin Communities in their traditional territory to advance and protect their Aboriginal and Treaty Rights;
- Experience with bookkeeping considered an asset;
- Experience with translation (Dene to English and vice versa) considered an asset.

Position Description:
The Warehouse Associate is expected to perform basic responsibilities and should be detail-oriented, adept at operating counterbalance sit down forklifts, stand up forklift, ride on pallet jacks and able to stand for extended periods. Ultimately, the warehouse associate should adhere to all warehouse safety practices as well as demonstrate exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collect and prepare orders accurately.
- Coordinate customer’s orders/shipments with other departments such as Administration, Sales, and Transportation.
- Inspect product to ensure saleable condition with acceptable expiry dates.
- Rotate stocks as needed.
- Help manage and maintain inventory.
- Report discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
- Receive incoming goods and ensure proper documentation accompanies the freight.
- Maintain safe and clean working areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- High School or equivalent experience and exceptional ability
- Must be able to work flexible start times when business requires
- Able to repetitively lift and move heavy boxes (up to 55lbs)
- Warehouse experience in high-volume distribution or logistics or equivalent experience is an asset
- Experience with Sit down counterbalance Forklift, stand up forklift and electric pallet jack experience is preferred.
